Michael was born and raised in Northern California, but now resides in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. He works as a security researcher at Intel. He has been married for 22 years and has two children, one of whom is his qualifier. Michael’s journey to find peer support started when his son first went to a wilderness program, but really took hold when joining the rooms of OPLM. He often like to says “I’ve been going to OPLM meetings since before they were OPLM”. The connections and friendships that have been born out of our “little Zoom boxes” are beyond anything he’s ever experienced in his life.
