Psychotherapy for adults who have a sibling with special needs.

I help adult siblings (age 18+) get in touch with their needs and emotions, find greater self-expression, and find freedom from guilt to create the life they want.

Did you grow up feeling invisible or making yourself small because you understood your sibling needed more support from your parents? Perhaps you got recognition for how helpful, kind, or mature you were, but you didn’t know what to do with your feelings of anger, resentment, jealousy, guilt, or shame.

You may have experienced trauma from a sibling’s behavior or medical crisis, or from the family’s response to it. As an adult you may find it hard to ask for what you need in relationships or work. You might not even be in touch with your needs. You may feel guilty about wanting to make life choices based on your own needs and desires.

We’ll work collaboratively in sessions that are tailored to what works best for you. I’m trained in psychodynamic, somatic, and expressive approaches to therapy, including: Art Therapy, Core Energetics, Guided Drawing for Healing Trauma®, EMDR, and Hakomi.
