I live 20 min outside of Boston, in my hometown, having had the good fortune to move back in 2000 when our kids were toddlers, so they might have the opportunity to grow up around family. From 1993 to 2023, I worked in the biotech area supporting pharmaceutical development, doing so in areas like CMC, R&D, Tech Ops, Business Development, Commercial Ops and Project Management. 30 years went by in the blink of an eye and today, 2 years into semi-retirement and part time work supporting the Archdiocese of Boston, it’s frankly hard to recall what was so important about my 3 decades in pharma!
Our 2 kids are almost 30 now, and they’re doing very well in this all to frequently tumultuous world. In 2016, our youngest became addicted to marijuana and thus began a decade of: uncertainty, struggle, pain, growth and hope. In 2020, I began my own recovery in Al Anon and related 12-Step meetings, and 18 months in, having completed study of the Steps for the first time, my own spiritual rebirth was nothing short of God-given. Today (and always), I know that Life will be full of ups-and-downs, but staying present, being grateful and continuing to seek Community and Love through service, are all keystones I work to live and honor.
