I am a mother of two amazing sons, married to a supportive partner, my life shifted after 16 years as a textile designer and director in NYC to raising my boys. In 2019 my older son’s substance abuse and mental health struggles became a family journey of discovery and healing. It wasn’t until a second go around at a New therapeutic boarding school for my son that I realized the crucial role of peer support through parent-created support groups. This community offered understanding, acceptance, and a safe, non-judgmental space. I found my “tribe”, my healing and myself. Seeing the transformation in myself, my son, and family taught me the importance of trusting the process, showing up, and connection. This experience inspired me to join OPLM as a Peer Parent, whose mission to help parents resonates deeply with my own journey, making it my time to give back.
