Tami Ann

Tami Ann is a Southern California native who was an avid writer from an early age. She wrote the book, A Wilderness Journey: The Story of a Teen’s Road to Healing, which was sprung from the lived experience as a mother.

Stories from the Field with host Will WhitAfter graduating from the University of Southern California she pursued a career in the medical field. With the arrival of her first child, she opted to be a stay-at-home mother with high expectations of her ability to nurture healthy happy children. Those best-laid plans crashed down around her as life presented unforeseen harrowing challenges with her teen son as he struggled with depression and substance abuse. While in the eye of the storm Tami’s outlet was journaling. Coming out the other side of that experience, Tami created the book she wished she could have found when she was searching for information and answers on the road to healing with outdoor wilderness therapy. She hopes that her writing will provide information and comfort to parents with a child that can benefit from the unplugged therapeutic benefits of the wilderness.
