Location: South Carolina
Hobby or Interest: I enjoy cooking, baking & volunteering
I grew up in the suburbs of NY, then moved to GA to pursue Chiropractic and currently reside in SC with my husband of 30 years, technically married for 23. I have a 20 year old son and 18 year old daughter, both of them have taught me so much and it is because of them that I strive to know and do better.
Over the years, I have had many different career paths but currently working part time in catering. I enjoy being a part of someone’s special day. I also volunteer for SC Dept. of Children’s Advocacy as a Guardian at Litem. I believe that by navigating this journey of recovery along side my son (qualifier) and doing my own personal work I am better able to show up with more empathy, understanding and acceptance when advocating for the needs of children during difficult circumstances.
I have had many gifts come from my son’s journey beside starting my own, one being an amazing support group, these are my tribe, warriors and people.
On the side, I run a media page and weekly support group meetings for the parents of the 2 treatment centers my son attended. When someone sits with you in your pain there is a deep connection, it is that connection that drives me to do the same for others on a similar path. Helping others give me a sense of purpose and allows me to practice compassion, patience and understanding.
In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, baking, reading and volunteering. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part OPLM and to walk along side of you , where ever are you are in this journey.
