Joe Feldman, who was born in Cincinnati, currently lives with his wife, Jan, in suburban Chicago. His advocacy journey began about eight years ago when his health insurer denied claims for medically necessary care for his daughter. Joe successfully challenged these denials through a federal lawsuit.
Professionally, Joe has fifteen years of experience as a corporate growth consultant and in executive roles with venture-stage technology firms. He is the President and founder of the Chicago-based non-profit Cover My Mental Health.
Feldman has been a board member of the Kennedy Forum Illinois, testified on mental health issues before the Illinois legislature, attended the White House announcement of new regulations last summer, and presented to various clinician and parent groups. Joe also published an article on medical necessity letters in the Journal of Psychiatric Practice.
