Erica Thiessen

Erica Thiessen is a Certified Coach and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Supervisor, with more than 20 years’ experience working with individuals, families, adolescents and parents in a variety of settings. A native of Northern California, Erica was able to travel and live abroad as an exchange student, enjoyed competitive swimming through college, and participated in social service work within full time volunteer communities prior to attending graduate school.

Her approach is anchored in holistic and somatic theories, with a relationally based approach and trauma informed lens. Erica has worked with youth, adolescents, young adults and family systems, within milieus such as wilderness, therapeutic boarding and supportive academic settings. Additionally, Erica enjoys working with individuals in their own healing and growth processes, and especially young adults as they orient towards their own life and values. She has developed a unique approach to developing awareness, maintaining open hearted curiosity, and holding space for vulnerability and strength based support.

Erica is a licensed clinician in North Carolina as well as California, and enjoys working with youth and families as a transition coach outside of CA and NC as well.
