What band are you listening to on repeat right now? Green Day
For much of my career, I was an entrepreneur and successful business person. Building and selling businesses and inspiring employees were my passions. But, when my younger daughter, Audrey, entered her teenage years and struggled emotionally and academically, my focus needed to change. So, I started working more locally and partnered with my wife, Lori, to find local solutions. When this proved unsuccessful, my wife and I elected to send Audrey for help by going to Wilderness Therapy and then Residential Treatment programs. During that time, Lori and I invested in parent coaching to grieve together, forgive one another and align together to communicate with Audrey. The coaching created a monumental shift in our marriage and relationship with Audrey.
As a result, I earned certifications from Parent Coaching Professionals (recognized by the International Coaching Federation) and JAI Parenting. I now coach parents to help them better understand and connect with their children. While I certainly understand parents of children in treatment well, I also work with married parents, co-parents and single parents with other challenges like failure to launch, academic challenges, drug/alcohol, social media issues, divorce/separation, etc.
What makes me unique is that I struggled with my child, so I have strong empathy. I received parent coaching, so I am grateful and a believer. I earned professional certifications for parent coaching, so I am now able to leverage my business acumen in a particularly sensitive area for parents to get the best from them. Finally, being a male in a female dominated field, I have a unique ability to connect to Dads, not just Moms. Feel free to join me on one of the OPLM sessions I host or look me up on my website listed above to find out more.
