I’m 61 and a married mom of 3. I love to spend time with friends and family, usually around outdoor activities and meals. I lost my dad a few years ago, he has been a big influence on me, to keep showing up, trying to help people, and connecting with family, friends, and others you interact with in life. I worked for 30 years in the corporate world and was a competitive athlete. I then started a second career coaching high school athletes and working with all levels of coaches on their career and personal growth. However, when my child was struggling with substance abuse and extended treatment, I realized I desperately needed help for my own growth, for hope, and for peace. I found help by attending parent support meetings, where I could be with those in similar circumstances, listen, share and learn. After three years our now-adult child is independent and making his own way forward, I’m a better parent to all my children, and our entire family has become stronger and more connected.
